dbchecker™ is ideal for testing audible appliances for the public operating mode of an emergency voice/alarm system in accordance with manufacturers' instructions. Merely "listening" or utilizing any sound level meter available is not a reliable method for testing audible alarm notification appliances. dBchecker conforms to ANSI S1.4a, which is required to meet the standard set forth in the latest edition of the National Fire Alarm Code (NFPA 72).
